DIGITAL MEETING OF ASIA PACIFIC GEOPARKS NETWORK COORDINATION COMMITTEE

The meeting is an activity within the framework The 9^th International Conference of UNESCO Global Geoparks held in Jeju Island UGGp, Republic of Korea from December 12^th to December 16^th, 2021. Attending the meeting were representatives of the APGN members. Mr. Jin Xiao Chi, APGN Coordinator chaired the meeting.
 

At the meeting, Mr. Jin Xiao Chi reviewed some noticeable activities of the Network in 2021 such as: The 2^nd APGN Geoparks Week; GeoFest 2021 in Rinani-Lombok Geopark (Indonisia); Digital workshop on UNESCO global geopark development between Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark (Vietnam) and Khorat Geopark (Thailand); Virtual Tourism Festival in Satun Geopark (Thailand)…
 

Ms. Chan Yu Nam (Hong Kong Geopark) presented the APGN social media. Currently, the APGN is effectively using media such as Website, Instagram, Twister, etc. to promote information of UNESCO Global Geoparks Network and geoparks’ images and activities.
 

Also in the meeting, representatives of National Geopark Networks shared their good practices and initiatives. On behalf of the Vietnam Geopark network, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Tan Van presented some activities of the Vietnam Geopark Network including Dak Nong Geopark to host the 20th International Conference on Volcanic Caves 2022, The youth with UGGp Forum contest, The ambassador of Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp contest, The Buckwheat flower Festival in Dong Van Karst Plateau UGGp (Ha Giang)…
